If someone gave me a nickel for every time I asked "How can I increase my sales?" Well then lets just say I'd have a whole bunk of nickels right now! The fact is that this answer is a different one for everyone. I would need to know what your product is and analyze your entire marketing strategy for me to figure out exactly what you're not doing right.
Fortunately, there are five basic secrets to increase your sales immediately that I am going to share with you today.
These methods are proven to work regardless of the product your selling and how you're selling it. That's the beauty about it! You see, whether your prospect is reading, hearing, or watching your sales pitch it wont matter; these tactics are proven to work for you as long as you are constantly applying them.
#1 Build Impulse:
The impulse of your prospects is their "willingness to buy." You need to understand that when your prospect first comes across what you're selling their impulse is most likely at ZERO. It's YOUR job to augment their impulse to the level of purchase using a series of well thought and well delivered messages. This is called your "presentation" or if you're a bit like me (a little old school), then you call it your "Sales Pitch."
You will need to have a well thought out sales pitch in order to effectively augment your prospects impulse. You will need to be able to anticipate the points within your sales pitch at which the impulse level of your prospects is most likely to drop. Use the attractive features of your product to bring their impulse back up, then you will close your sales pitch when their impulse level is at the climax for best results.
#2 Leverage The Law of Averages
The most effective way to double sales is to of course double the quantity of people that your product is being exposed to. Every product and salesperson has that inherent law of average. The law represents a relationship between customers that bought the product and the customers that did not. For example, a 1:10 law of average simply means that you need to acquire 9 knows prior to making one sale.
You will need to keep in mind that this is an AVERAGE. It is not mean to be taken and it does not happen literally. I might sell my product to the first 2 customers is pitch to and then not sell to the next 18 in a row. When the day is over you just average out the yeses and no's that you got and you get your Law of Average (or LOA). Now, lets say that your goal was to make 20 sales today, if you only pitched your product to 100 people and made only 10 sales then how could you make those 20 sales the next day? That's right! Pitch your product to 200 people instead of 100.
#3 Up-Selling
This is probably the most common mistake that both sales people and marketers make. They invest a lot of time and money trying to find prospects then whey they get a buyer they stop selling. Hello??? You actually have a buyer here. Buyers BUY. So continue selling! Suggest other products you might be selling that might be of benefit to the customer or perhaps offer them a volume discount for their second item. Whatever you do, you need to try to sell more or try to generate more leads from this one sale. Ask them if they have a friend or a family member who might be able to benefit from owning the product you just sold.
You just have to ask? You have nothing to lose, the worst case scenario is that they'll tell you "No thanks, I'll just take this one."
Let me ask you something... when you're at McDonald's and buy a value meal don't they always ask that same question, "would you like to super size it"? Does anyone ever tell them "Oh no, never mind cancel my order, I'm not going to eat at all now just because you want me to buy more." No they don't! So what is holding you back? Sell. Sell. Sell!
Sell Yourself Properly Online
Selling on the internet is all about being on the list. You might have the perfect product to sell but no one or no way to promote it, it'll just sit in your hard drive and collect dust. I am all Internet Marketers dream come true! I'll tell you why... are you ready?? Well, here it is... Because I Buy Everything! I'm the most impulsive person you will ever meet. It only takes a few well written lines to hook me and I'll just scroll down and click on the buy button and purchase the product! I have so much software and eBooks just sitting in my hard drive, I can hardly remember what I bought, it's ridiculous! Sometimes I will even buy something twice because the vendor sends me an email and then I forget that I already have the product! If you're an online marketer, then for sure you'll want people just like me on your e-mailing list!
So why would I tell you all this? Simply because I'm exactly like that next guy, which I'm certain there are millions of who are out there just waiting until they find products like yours and opt into your emailing list as well. So how can you find guys like me? Well that's a good question. I'm currently on around 11 different lists every week because I join a couple then every week or so I opt out of some as well. (You sure don't want to be the list people opt out of.) Below, I'll explain to you why I opt out. One thing that's fact however, is that there are about five or six lists which I'll never opt out from! (This is the type of list you want to be!) These are list that send me email's and I open them because I simply just can't wait to see what they have to say in them. If it's about a product promotion then there is about a 99.9% chance that I'll purchase it. Because they've EARNED my trust.
There are Ways to Win Over Guys Like Me:
1. Listing posted on eBay: I discovered my mentor through eBay about a year ago and to this day, I've probably bought over $1000 worth of products from him and about twice as much products that he has promoted. I also bought his book on eBay for 12 bucks and then one thing lead to the next, which in turn lead me to his blog site, etc. etc. I'm sure you get the full picture.
2. Posting on Blogs & Forums. Once I found his blog, I was on it daily and was hooked by the comments that were left by the subscribers. I would click on their names which would lead to their sites and I'd buy products from them and then join their list etc. etc. So do you see what's happening here?
3. Writing Articles: Whenever I'm in need of something, when I'm searching for something, when I'm trying to comprehend something, or simply just want to buy something, there is one place I go to first. Google! Google is in control of about 75% of all internet traffic, or so I've heard, although it's not an unbelievable figure. The point is that I use Google to find articles and most times that's how if find and buy products.
Three Ways To Lose Guys Like Me:
1. Over Promote: Some marketers have great initial products but then the moment you opt in to their list I became the $ (dollar symbol), and all they do now is just email me promotional emails and affiliate links day after day. It really gets stale and annoying rather quickly.
2. Email Me Constantly: There are some marketers who just don't know when it's time to "Chill Out", they get trigger happy with the "Send" button. No lie, I have been emailed four times a day by the same marketer all last week. My inbox was practically flooded with his emails. And most of it was pure propaganda. No good advice or any substantial content which could benefit me right then and there. Just a whole bunch of smoke and mirrors so that they could lure me to other products.
